Bristol weather: When Met Office and BBC say heavy rain will next hit city

Enjoy the sunny spells and warm temperatures while you can because Bristol is facing heavy downpours later this week.

Experts at the Met Office are predicting highs of 14C and lots of sunshine tomorrow (October 7).

However, this picture-perfect autumnal weather is set to change, according to forecasters.

Experts at the Met Office predict heavy downpours between 9pm on Wednesday until 10am the following day, but say the weather will improve after that.

And Bristol could be battered by seven hours of rain on Thursday between 6am until noon, reports the BBC.

Large swathes of Britain will also be lashed with rain throughout the week.

The country has already seen more rain than is usual for the whole of October, just six days in.

Winchcombe currently tops the charts with 118mm of rain so far, 37mm more than its usually monthly average for this time of year.

The rest of the top six is made up of Aboyne, Wiggonholt, Odiham, Aberdeen and Reading, according to BBC weather charts.

"This is going to bring a return to some heavier, more persistent outbreaks of rain later this week and that could bring some renewed localised flooding," said BBC forecaster Chris Fawkes.

"That could cause one or two problems."

South West forecast
