Bristol weather: What the Met Office says is in store for bank holiday weekend

The hot weather has delighted Bristol residents this week, and many will be wondering whether they can continue to enjoy the sunshine through the bank holiday weekend.

While it will remain relatively warm, there will be more cloud cover and cooler temperatures into the start of next week.

Met Office forecasters say the warm weather is set to continue during the late-May bank holiday , following some reports the city will be 'as hot as Barcelona' .

If you’re planning to celebrate the end of a long working week you may be in luck, as there will be sunny spells throughout the day with highs of 19C tomorrow (Friday, May 23).

But don't forget your jacket, as there’s also a high chance of cloud cover through Friday evening.

Saturday will be the best day to whip out the bank holiday BBQs (there's a sale on BBQ gear in Wilkos , for anyone in the market).

It is predicted that the sun will be shining for much of the day between 10am and 7pm.

Both Friday and Saturday are expected to have high UV levels and moderate pollen levels.

Sunday will see lower UV and pollen levels with more overcast and breezy conditions.

Through the afternoon and into the evening, temperatures will remain moderate between 10C and 17C.

If you’re heading for a night out on the town, do not fret. Night-time temperatures shall be moderate through the weekend at somewhere between 10C and 14C.

For those hoping to enjoy their day off on Monday, relaxing indoors may be the way to go. While sunny intervals are expected, there is a chance of rain in the late morning and late afternoon.

Best make the most of this week’s sunny weather as showers are expected next week, in true British fashion.
