Bristol weather: Snow falls in city as Met Office predicts lows of -7C overnight

Light snow has been falling across Bristol today (February 10) as experts predict one of the coldest nights of the year so far.

Large swathes of our city saw the white stuff land this afternoon. However, there wasn't enough for it to pitch (or stick).

People in Bedminster and St George confirmed they saw snow flakes.

One person wrote on Twitter: "’I'm so jealous of everywhere getting snow, meanwhile in Bristol we getting dandruff."

Someone else said: "Got sun and snow here in East Bristol atm."

Experts at the Met Office say lows of -7C will hit our city overnight into Thursday morning, as other parts of the UK drop to as low as -20C.

The lowest recorded temperature for February was -20.6C recorded in Woburn, Bedfordshire on February 25, 1947.

The UK has been in the grip of relentless heavy snow showers for days as the 'Beast from the East 2' continues to pummel the country.

Bristol has seen the white stuff fall for two consecutive weekends, with January 24 bringing enough to build snowmen and go sledging.

It will remain chilly in the coming days, with the mercury not climbing above 3C until Sunday.
