Bristol weather: Met Office predicts washout ahead of sunshine and highs of 19C

Bristol is set to bask in beautiful sunshine for much of today - with showers this morning drying up quickly.

The forecast for the Met Office shows five hours of unbroken sunshine this afternoon from 1pm, but a brisk westerly wind will keep the temperatures down.

And there is further good news in the days ahead as the storms and heavy downpours that are being predicted to affect much of the rest of the country, look set to miss Bristol and the West of England region.

The forecast shows a mixture of showers and sunshine throughout the morning, with a good chance Bristol will get a bit of a soaking at some point from around 9am to midday.

But from then on, the skies will clear and there’ll be warm sunshine right through until the end of the day, with cloud building back again from teatime.

But while the temperatures will struggle to get above 19 deg C, it will feel even chillier, with a strong westerly wind making it feel like just 14 or 15 deg C unless you’re somewhere sheltered from it.

The forecast for the rest of the week is much the same - early sunshine on Thursday will be replaced by showers and overcast skies, but it will be nicer on Friday, with lots of sunshine.
