Bristol weather: Met Office forecasts 12-hour sunshine burst

It's the first weekend back with shops, pubs, barbers and more all re-opened as we slowly follow the Government's roadmap to coming out of lockdown.

Many people will be planning to head to their favourite beer garden or shopping centre after being deprived of the experience so far this year.

However, despite the colder weather over the last week, 12 hours of unbroken sunshine are forecast for Bristol on Saturday.

Locals can look forward to being outside with the reassurance of the sun on their backs as they enjoy their first pint, or two, for the first time in months.

We've broken down the weather forecast for the first weekend back from Friday evening all the way through to Sunday evening using the Met Office forecast.

Friday evening forecast

Friday evening is set to be overcast despite the sun shining for the majority of the day.

Temperatures will remain at 11C until 7pm until dropping to 8C by 10pm.

There is less than 5 per cent chance of rain falling and with a wind speed of 5mph there shouldn't be too many cold breezes.

Saturday forecast

There are twelve hours of unbroken sunshine forecast on Saturday to the delight of locals in Bristol.

Starting from 7am the sun is forecast to continually set without cloud cover until 7pm.

There are only highs of 12C forecast so wrapping up warm may still be advised especially as the cloud cover comes in by the evening.

Pollen levels are forecast to be high on Saturday for those with hayfever allergies and winds are set to hit a maximum of 6mph speed throughout the day.

The temperature will drop by 8C by 10pm for those still braving the outdoors for a late-night drink.

Sunday forecast

The forecast for Sunday offers some sunshine, but the majority of the day will be overcast.

Sunshine is expected to creep through gaps in the cloud in the morning but from noon through to 6pm it is expected to be overcast with highs of 13C

However, the evening is set to be nice with the sun appearing whilst remaining at 12C as the evening draws in.

By 10pm the temperature will drop to 9C with clear skies expected overnight.

The pollen levels will be high all day, so hayfever sufferers will have to be prepared with those anti-histamine tablets.
