Bristol weather: Enjoy the sunshine today before showers at the weekend

Bristol is set to enjoy a much more settled and sunny day on Thursday, August 1.

Previous days have seen much cooler temperatures along with cloud and some showers.

But the good news is, the first day of August is set to be a fine and bright day.

The sunshine will come after a dry and clear night for Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

Met Office forecasters say the day will get off to a rather cool start, with some fog and mist patches and temperatures of around 16c at 7am.

There will be bright and sunny spells throughout the day with temperatures of up to 24C.

Bristol looks set to dodge some isolated showers which are predicted to hit Devon and Cornwall in the afternoon.

As we had into the weekend there could be the chance of some wetter weather and much more cloud - so today could be the best day to head outside and enjoy the summer weather.

But don't forget your suncream - experts say the UV levels will be medium on Thursday.

And the good news for hayfever sufferers is that pollen levels are expected to be low.
