Every neighbourhood across Bristol now has a GP-led vaccination centre.
The network of centres will see tens of thousands of vaccines delivered across the area to patients each week.
The latest ‘primary care network (PCN) sites’ in Bristol started their covid-19 vaccination roll out on Saturday, meaning that all 19 general practice sites in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) will be open and vaccinating people against the virus.
Fishponds Family Practice, Knowle West Healthy Living Centre and Lodgeside Surgery were the last remaining remaining sites and have now begun clinics.
The centres are working alongside the super vaccination centre at Ashton Gate and the hospital hubs at Southmead Hospital, Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital to ensure the priority groups as set by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) are vaccinated as soon as possible.
Dr Katrina Boutin, GP and Clinical Director of Foss PCN, which is vaccinating at Lodgeside Surgery said: “We are absolutely delighted to now be giving the Covid-19 vaccine to our population.
“We have been booking appointments in line with the national prioritisation guidance, and we are asking everyone to be patient, and not to contact us or your local practice if we haven’t contacted you yet.
“We want to reassure people that if you haven't yet been contacted – please don't worry, we will be in touch very soon.”
The Government has set a target of offering the first dose of a vaccine to the top four priority groups identified by the government’s main advisory body on vaccinations - around 15 million people - by February 15.

Local GP and member of the clinical team responsible for the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire COVID-19 vaccination programme, Dr Neil Kerfoot, said: “It’s fantastic news that all vaccination sites in BNSSG are now up and running.
“This should allow us to move through the priority groups as advised by the JCVI at pace.
“Please be assured that no one will be left behind, this is the start of the vaccination programme and there will be enough for everyone.
“We are working really hard to ensure we can vaccinate as many people as we can as quickly as possible.
“There's still much to be done, and we are working tirelessly to ensure the vaccine is rolled out effectively to everyone in the area who needs it.”
GP practice sites are also supporting with the vaccination of frontline health and care staff.
This week Bridge View Medical in Bedminster, Knowle West Healthy Living Centre and Lodgeside Surgery will be vaccinating more than 3,500 frontline staff between them, alongside their registered patients who are over 80 and the staff and residents at their local care homes.
Alongside the vaccination roll out people are still being urge to follow national lockdown guidance, and remember hands, face, space when they venture out for essential reasons.
