Bristol to be hot as Spain this week as Met Office predicts soaring temperatures

The sweltering Bristolian summer is set to continue over the coming days.

Monday and Tuesday saw temperatures peak at around 20C, but the Met Office expects 23C highs at points during the rest of the week.

That would take the mercury to the same level as predicted highs in parts of Spain, including Bilbao.

Met Office national forecast for the week ahead - from July 29

Strong sunshine is forecasted on Wednesday in Bristol from 11am until 8pm, with peak temperatures of 20C.

That should rise to 22C on Thursday, which is likely to see sunny spells among some clouds.

Friday is set to be cloudy but with highs of 23C, and there is a similar outlook for Saturday.

And on Sunday, the temperatures could go up to 22C, though there will likely be some rain too.
