Bristol TK Maxx issues urgent product recall with 'electric shock' warning

If you have made any purchases at TK Maxx in recent months, or even bought Christmas presents there, you may want to check they are safe.

The store in Broadmead has put three 'important safety notices' in its window to warn customers of potential risks.

It is recalling three electronics products, which could overheat, cause an electric shock, or have batteries included which may leak.

Asda, Lidl, TK Maxx, IKEA, Tesco and more issue urgent product recalls  

The notices say the safety of their customers is "very important" and they are taking action "as a precaution".

These are the products:

Lynx the Golden Year with Exclusive Floating/Shower speaker

A notice in the window of Bristol's TK Maxx says Unilever has notified it is recalling the speaker due to a safety concern with the charging cable included in the gift pack.

Some of the cables have a defect and may overheat.

JD Wetherspoon pub St George's Hall in Redfield has been put up for sale  

The product was on sale in TK Maxx and Homesense between December 2018 and February 2019.

Advice is to stop using it immediately and contact the store for a full refund. For further enquiries people can contact Unilever's UK customer services on 0800 145252.

Westlab Himalaya Salt Lamp

TK Maxx and Homesense are recalling the product due to a 'potential safety concern' relating to one batch, according to a notice in the Bristol city centre store's window.

It says: "We have identified a safety issue with one of the electrical components which may post a risk of electric shock."

Advice is to stop using it immediately.

TK Maxx says it has identified an issue with this product, which was on sale in December 2018 and January 2019.

A notice in the Bristol window says: "We have found that some of these batteries could leak which may pose a safety risk."
