Bristol teenager arrested following drugs operation by police

A Bristol teenager has been arrested after a drugs operation by police in Staffordshire.

Police seized cannabis and a machete during a stop and search exercise off Wood Street in Burton-upon-Trent.

The search was carried out as part of Operation Sceptre which aims to tackle knife crime and educate young people on the dangers of carrying knives, Derbyshire Live reports.

The campaign includes sweeps, surrender bins  and educational activities to remove unwanted knives off the streets.

During the operation in Burton, officers also found a large amount of cash and a phone, according to a police spokesman.

A 17-year-old teenager was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and being concerned in the supply of drugs.
