A tapas restaurant on Cotham Hill is closing its doors for two weeks on July 7 to give its “hard-working staff” a holiday.
The restaurant’s owner Connie says three of Bellita’s core team are “moving on to pastures new” and the business will be celebrating their hard this weekend.
Connie says she has also decided to give the rest of her staff a holiday as a reward for all they have done for the business.
She said: “Our brilliant core team here are moving onto pastures new, taking up exciting opportunities in Bristol and beyond.
“We’ll be open for drinks and supper this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm before taking a two-week break.”
Bellita, which opened in October 2015, will be reopening as usual in two weeks' time, according to Connie.
The team behind the restaurant has its roots in some of Bristol’s best-loved eateries including Rocinantes tapas bar, which opened in 1988, and Bell’s Diner & Bar Rooms, which opened in 2013.
The restaurant serves tapas dishes and has an extensive wine list, all of which are made by female winemakers.
The Bellita website states: "The wine world is heavily dominated by men but there are growing numbers of women doing great things with grapes. we think all our wines have a certain feminine finesse and lightness of touch which sit well with our personality and with our food."
Bellita was awarded Best Tapas in the Bristol Good Food Awards 2016, recommended in the Waitrose Good Food Guide and also in the Michelin Guide 2017.
