Bristol supermarket forced to shut after early morning raid

A Bristol supermarket was forced to close this morning after staff found they had been broken into overnight.

Thieves had raided Lidl in Horfield at around 3am making off with a number of items in the store.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene and crime scene investigators started working trying to uncover evidence the burglars might have left behind.

Manhunt launched in connection to 'false imprisonment' incident

The shop on Muller Road had to turn customers away at its usual opening time of 8am, instead saying it should be open past noon today, April 22.

Met Office says thunderstorms and rain to replace glorious Easter weather across UK

A sign on an A4 piece of paper was put in the window apologising to any disappointed customers for their temporary closure and saying it is because of a break-in.

A wooden board has now replaced what was a large pain of window that had been smashed indicating how the raiders entered and exited the supermarket.
