Bristol stabbing: Man rushed to hospital after Christmas Eve assault

A man has been taken to hospital after sustaining a stab wound on Christmas Eve in Bristol.

The male, who is in his 20s, was assaulted in the Stapleton Road area of Bristol at approximately 10.05pm last night (December 24).

Witnesses say they saw a police cordon in effect last night as the man was taken to hospital after the stabbing.

CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are now underway and officers remain in the Easton area today.

It is believed that the stab wounds sustained by the male are not life-threatening or life changing.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "At approximately 10.05pm last night (Friday 24 December), we received a report of a male being assaulted in the Stapleton Road area of Bristol.

"The male, who is in his 20s, was found to have sustained a stab wound. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening or life changing.

"CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are underway and officers remain in the area.

"Anyone who witnessed the assault, or has relevant dascham or CCTV footage, should call 101 and give reference number 5221301626."
