Bristol skip fire battled by fire fighters overnight

Dramatic images have been released of a skip fire in Bristol.

The image, released by Bedminster Fire Station, shows a firefighter tackling the blaze which had started after a skip full of rubbish had caught light.

The skip was found between two parks cars on the kerbside of a street.

Bedminster Fire Station, found on Twitter @AFRSBedminster, posted the image on social media with the message: “Some fire action for Blue Watch overnight.”

The blaze was dealt with by the firefighters and was extinguished overnight.

Bedminster Fire Station is a part of Avon Fire and Rescue Service and serves the south of Bristol and the city centre.

North of Bristol, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were in action in the early hours of Sunday morning.

They had been fighting fires to two lorries following a three-car crash on the M5 between Junction 9 and Junction 10. The motorway is now expected to be closed until Monday.
