Bristol's Tobacco Factory Market to return this weekend

One of Bristol's most popular weekly markets returns this weekend.

The Tobacco Factory's Sunday market attracts people from all over the city thanks to its selection of street food traders and independent retailers.

It's made even better by the fact it's held in the car park of the Tobacco Factory's cafe-bar, which serves beers from some of Bristol's top breweries and delicious food.

The Southville market has not taken place since January 3 as its organisers decided not to run it throughout the third national lockdown - but they are now gearing up to make a triumphant return on April 18.

There will be around 20 stalls in total - fewer than the amount the market attracted before the first lockdown so visitors can keep a safe distance from others - but still more than enough to make it a worthwhile trip.

Familiar favourites such as Ciccio's Kitchen, Pieminister and Rolling Italy will be on hand to serve up top notch food and coffee, alongside a number of independent retailers selling prints, plants, clothing and more.

The indoor Makers Market, which opened in place of the Thali Cafe in December 2019, has been open throughout lockdown and will act as an add-one to the outdoor market.

Geraldine Roul, Tobacco Factory Market manager, said: "We can't wait to see our traders again and of course welcome visitors back for the first time since early January.

"We will have a number of measures to keep visitors safe including hand sanitising stations upon entry, no middle row of stalls to allow for social distancing and staff on hand to oversee the market."

The market will take place between 10am and 2.30pm on Sunday, April 18.
