Bristol's Thekla is hosting a Prodigy party to celebrate the life of Keith Flint

The death of Keith Flint earlier this month rocked the music world to its core.

On March 4, the larger-than-life frontman of The Prodigy was found dead at his home in Essex after taking his own life at the age of 49.

Fellow band members Liam Howlett and Leeroy Thornhill revealed the news on the group's Instagram page, confirming that the cause of death was suicide.

"The news is true, I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend," they wrote.

It's estimated that around 4,500 men in the UK take their own lives every year, as highlighted in a new documentary made by Bristol film-maker Ben Akers, and Keith's death was further proof that depression can affect anyone no matter what their status.

Parklife Festival is bringing a one-off party to Bristol to celebrate its 10th anniversary

And fans of the band are making sure that the rave legend's legacy lives on.

Following his death a campaign was launched to get Firestarter to number one in the UK charts, while on March 27 a one-off party is taking place at Thekla to celebrate Keith and the band.

Featuring the band's biggest hits such as the aforementioned Firestarter, Breathe, Omen, Out of Space and more, as well as other tracks from the rave era and beyond, the night will pay homage to the enigmatic frontman.

Every single penny raised on the night will go towards Music For All and The CALMzone . Music For All is a charity which takes learn-to-play projects to people who do not have access to making music while CALM is a leading a movement against male suicide.

There will be a pop-up Co-Op supermarket at Glastonbury Festival for 2019

The event has already attracted a big response on its Facebook page with people keen to raise as much money as possible for the two charities.

Tickets are available on Party For The People's website.
