Bristol's new coronavirus cases in single figures as no further deaths recorded

There have been 31 new coronavirus infections confirmed across the Bristol area today (April 6).

The city of Bristol recorded seven new Covid cases bringing the area's total to 30,555.

Bath and North East Somerset recorded four new infections bringing their total to 8,189.

Statistics published by Public Health England show South Gloucestershire recorded the highest number of new infections today of 14, bringing their total to 15,085.

North Somerset record six new infections and their total stands at 9,994.

No further deaths have been recorded across all four areas.

  • Bristol - 30,555 (+7)

  • North Somerset - 9,994 (+6)

  • South Gloucestershire - 15,085 (+14)

  • Bath and North East Somerset - 8,189 (+4)

UK figures

A further 20 deaths were reported across the UK today, and 2,379 new cases.

Since the pandemic first hit, 126,882 deaths have been reported within 28 days of a person tested positive for Covid.
