Bristol zero waste shop reopens in new home with more than 300 new lines of stock

The first zero waste shop to open in Bristol has moved to a new home more than double the size of its first.

Zero Green was opened in March 2018 by Bristol friends Stacey Fordham and Lidia Losada, who decided to launch the business after growing increasingly frustrated at the amount of unnecessary plastic used in supermarkets.

Now, nearly two years since starting trading, the popular store has relaunched at its new home - although it hasn't gone far.

It is now located 68 doors further up North Street in the former home of Progressive Cleaning, directly opposite the new Flip vegan deli.

The extra space has allowed Stacey and Lidia to introduce a whopping 300 new lines of stock, covering food, household items and more.

"We simply ran out of space at our old home and wanted to offer more food and retail items for our customers," said Stacey.

"As we've built up a solid customer base here on North Street and our customers have been so supportive, we didn't want to go too far and we felt this space was perfect.

"It took a lot of work getting it ready but we think we're in a better location now than before, even though it's only a few minutes up the road, as we're opposite a vegan deli which ties in nicely with us and there's more footfall here."

After a three week closure, the store reopened on Saturday and was packed with both old customers returning eager to see the changes and new faces.

Some of the most exciting new additions include a new frozen food section, home to a range of vegan treats including pasties, burgers and apple strudel, and a tap serving health drink Kombucha.

There are also now two tills and three weighing scales dotted around the store, making for a more pleasant shopping experience.

Fans of peanut butter are in luck too, as Stacey and Lidia have added a second machine which produces delicious nut butter.

And better still, thanks to the addition of new staff the store is now open seven days a week, opening until 4pm on Sundays.

Zero Green's new store is located at 80 North Street, BS3 1HJ. For more information, visit its website.
