Bristol's coronavirus cases continue to creep up - latest figures

A total of 25 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Bristol since Friday.

According to the latest figures published by Public Health England today (Monday, September 14), 1,650 cases have been recorded in our city since the start of the pandemic.

North Somerset's total now stands at 1,034 following a rise of 14 cases over the weekend and today.

In South Gloucestershire, 22 more cases were confirmed since Friday, with the district's cases now standing at 911.

And Bath and North East Somerset recorded an increase of three, the total there is 458.

UK-wide 2,621 people tested positive for the virus, bringing the nation's total to 371,125.

Covid deaths

Neither of Bristol's hospital trusts have recorded a new death over the past 24 hours, where deaths remain at 271.

Southmead Hospital reported a coronavirus-related death on Tuesday, August 25, which was the first in the city for two months.

Nationally, nine further Covid-related hospital deaths were recorded today.

The UK's total death toll now stands at 41,637.
