When the sun comes out in Bristol, there's never a shortage of people searching for the best spots to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink. And the city is certainly not short on offerings.

Whether it be rooftop locations or al fresco restaurants, there's plenty of places to enjoy a tipple in the sun. And being a place that's so fond of its harbour, Bristol does have a few floating eateries. Here are the best boats in Bristol for drinking and dining.

Grain Barge

Grain Barge offers stunning, panoramic views to enjoy while dining on fresh, locally-sourced food. They serve a range of dishes from brunch to Sunday lunch. They're dog friendly too, making them perfect for all the family. They offer a menu friendly for kids too!

Under The Stars

Under the Stars, Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4Q

Under The Stars is a prime spot, moored on Bristol's harbour. It offers a tapas menu as well as pizzas. While the downstairs is for diners with bookings, the upper deck is the perfect place to enjoy a pint or a cocktail while enjoying the scenery.

The Matthew

The Matthew is a part of Bristol's history, having been sailed by John Cabot in 1497 from Bristol to Newfoundland. And now, the reconstruction is open to guests. It's a hit for Avon Gorge trips but not many know you can enjoy a meal aboard the ship. The Matthew often offers 'fish and chips trips' where diners can enjoy a sail and a meal whilst aboard.

Bristol Ferry Boat Gin Cruise

If you're a gin drinker, this is the boat for you. Bristol Ferry Boat offer a dedicated 'Gin Cruise' - where you can enjoy the harbours sunset views alongside a drink. You can make your way around the docks, enjoying an hour and 30 minutes of Bristol's waterfront. Tickets are priced at £20 and include two drinks, with extras available to buy.
