Bristol Rovers to play first pre-season game on Saturday with new signings to feature

More than 150 days after playing their last game, Bristol Rovers will return to action on Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Bristol Manor Farm.

Ben Garner's Gas will travel to The Creek for a noon kick off as preparations accelerate ahead of League One's return on September 12.

The game will be played behind closed doors due to COVID-19 regulations, but Bristol Live will have live build-up, coverage and reaction with Rovers' six new signings set to make their bows.

Fans have been urged not to congregate at the ground due to COVID-19 regulations.

Non-league Manor Farm, who will line up in the Southern League Division One South next season, will likely take on the Pirates' series of new signings at The Creek.

The additions of Josh Grant, Jack Baldwin, Max Ehmer, Sam Nicholson, Jonah Ayunga and Zain Westbrooke have proliferated huge excitement among Gasheads and they are set to play their first game in the blue and white quarters.

Bristol Live understands Ayunga, in particular, has impressed in training and the ex-Havant & Waterlooville striker will be eager to show Garner what he is capable of on the pitch.

Rovers have a full schedule pre-season games penned in ahead of the new season, with the fixtures to be announced in due course.
