Bristol Rovers raise funds for Macmillan with club-wide coffee morning

Bristol Rovers have come together for a club-wide coffee morning.

Cancer charity Macmillan have organised a world wide coffee morning to raise funds and help bring people together.

Bristol Rovers' first-team staff decided to host an event at the club's training ground, inviting members of staff and the youth team for a coffee and a slice of cake.

Speaking after a packed event, Rovers goalkeeping coach Adrian Tucker said it was good for the Gas to come together to celebrate a good month for the club and help to raise funds for charity.

He said: "It's an important time of the month but Macmillan is a cancer charity and they do a lot of hard work throughout the country for individuals in suffering and support families.

"We thought it was an opportunity to raise awareness to it and try to earn a little bit of money for their cause, but also, at the same time, bring the club together.

"We've got members of staff here who work regularly at the Mem that we probably don't see an awful lot of, being based here at Cribbs.

"We've got the youth team, who train at a different environment, and the under-23s, and we've all come together for a good cause and have a little mingle around and a good catch-up with everyone as well.

"It was certainly a positive morning and, at the same time, we've raised a few funds for Macmillan."
