Bristol Rovers player ratings with Ehmer and Kilgour improved against Fleetwood Town

Joe Day - 7

Quiet first half, but was immediately called into action after the break. He did superbly to keep out Madden's shot, which was destined for the bottom corner, with his fingertips.

George Williams - 7

Rovers were adamant Williams should have had a penalty awarded in the first half after going down under pressure from Andrew. Good shift.

Max Ehmer - 7

Was under pressure after Tuesday's horror show at Accrington, but responded with a steady performance.

Alfie Kilgour - 7

Like Ehmer, Kilgour needed to stand up after the debacle in midweek and the centre-back was rock solid.

Jack Baldwin - 6

Struggled early up against the pace and power of Kyle Vassell, but became increasingly composed.

Luke Leahy - 6

Buccaneered forward with regularity and whipped in a delicious cross for Sam Nicholson, but the forward couldn't get his contact right. Sloppy on the ball after the break.

Josh Grant - 7

Was overpowered in midweek but was fired up today and was more effective in holding midfield. More aggressive on the ball, too.

Ben Liddle - 5

A nervy start, as expected, but he covered the ground with enthusiasm in the middle of the park. Taken off after an hour. Valuable minutes in the bank.

Sam Nicholson - 5

Saw plenty of the ball in good areas in the first half, but didn't make it count. He really had to do better from Leahy's cross, but the Scotsman got his header all wrong. Hit the side netting from another Leahy cross after the break. Not his day.

James Daly - 6

Immediately added more energy to the side. Looked rusty in front of goal in the first half, but gave Rovers an added threat up top. Taken off in the second half after a decent shift.

Brandon Hanlan - 6

Had a decent penalty shout waved away in the first half. Worked hard for the team but got frustrated and struggled to hold the ball up and link the play at times. Poked wide of the near post after good play from Luke McCormick.

Subs

Luke McCormick (for Liddle on 63) - 7

Jonah Ayunga (for Hanlan on 83) - 6

Used his power smartly.

Not used: Jordi van Stappershoef, David Tutonda, Cian Harries, Erhun Oztumer.
