Bristol Rovers player ratings as Jed Ward impresses on debut in defeat at Blackpool

Jed Ward - 7

An impressive debut for the teenager, who made a handful of good saves, including a smart reaction stop from Keshi Anderson's point-blank effort. The goal was well out of his reach. Ward is highly rated by Joey Barton and his staff. One for the future.

George Williams - 5

Had the tough task of containing the lively Anderson and managed to keep the winger off the scoresheet, though that was more a result of poor finishing and good goalkeeping.

Jack Baldwin - 6

Made a good block to deny Eliot Embleton's goal-bound effort and generally positioned himself well. Was in the right place to mop up after Ward was played into trouble by Harries.

Cian Harries - 5

A difficult start to the game, picking up an early booking after being beaten for speed. Became more assured, but was lucky his weak back pass for Ward was not punished.

Luke Leahy (c) - 5

Committed display from the captain as he tried to surge forward when possible but his influence was minimal in attack, and he was left flat-footed a couple of times defensively.

Pablo Martinez - 5

Perhaps too safe in possession occasionally when Rovers beat the press, but he was defensively assured.

Zain Westbrooke - 5

Stuck out on the flanks for much of the game and that curbed his influence. Fell asleep defensively on occasion.

Cameron Hargreaves - 5

Busy, putting in a good shift in midfield. Gradually became more effective, but saw few moments to really make an impact.

Luke McCormick - 6

Showed his trademark battling spirit in his final game for the club. Was desperate to leave a parting gift before returning to Chelsea when his loan expires, but the goalkeeper was equal to a firm strike after a powerful run.

David Tutonda - 6

Showed he may have a future on the left of midfield with a spirited and wholehearted display. Unlucky to see a deflected effort miraculously saved by Stuart Moore.

Alex Rodman - 5

Given the unenviable task of playing up top alone. Worked hard and had a few moments in front of goal, but was unable to make them count.

Got little change out of the defence.
