Bristol Rovers player ratings as Jack Baldwin and Josh Grant impress in draw at Wigan Athletic

Anssi Jaakkola - 6

Couple of nervous moments early doors, but was solid thereafter.

Josh Hare - 5

Tough first half for the right-back, with left-back Tom Pearce Wigan's best attacking outlet. Hare was sloppy on the ball too. Was booked for a poor challenge in the second half before being subbed off.

Max Ehmer (c) - 7

Solid performance from the skipper, with the Rovers goal untroubled for most of the game.

Jack Baldwin - 8

Won every header that came his was and was commanding in defence. Excellent performance.

Luke Leahy - 7

Did plenty of good work defensively, including some well-judged clearances inside the six-yard box.

Sam Nicholson of Bristol Rovers shoots at goal. (Robbie Stephenson/JMP)

Ed Upson - 6

One plenty of second balls and put himself about in the centre of the park.

Josh Grant - 7

The most aggressive performance we've seen from him so far, winning plenty of loose balls and he used possession well when he had it.

Ali Koiki - 7

Was asked to do a job on the left wing and was up to the task. He linked well with Rovers' forwards.

Luke McCormick - 7

Started the game brightly with several smart flicks as he connected well with Nicholson and Oztumer. Came close with a good long rang effort in the second half.

Erhun Oztumer - 6

Rovers looked a much better side for his inclusion, bringing craft and guile to the attack. Less influential in the second half and was taken off.

Sam Nicholson - 7

He got everything right but the finish in the 14th minute, stopping Ehmer's lofted through ball dead before rounding the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, the ball got stuck under his feet and the finish lacked power, allowing a Wigan defender to clear off the line. Will be battered and bruised after playing as a makeshift striker, but he gave it his all.

Subs

Zain Westbrooke (for McCormick on 66 minutes) - 6

Tried to create something.

Josh Barrett (for Koiki on 66 minutes) - 6

First appearance since February, and he showed his imagination but couldn't create the chance Rovers needed.

Zain Walker (for Oztumer on 66 minutes) - 6

Energetic

Alfie Kilgour (for Hare on 78 minutes) - 6

Calm and sensible.

Not used: Jordi van Stappershoef, Ben Liddle, Cian Harries.
