Bristol Rovers player ratings as Gas slump to heavy defeat to Fleetwood Town

Jordi van Stappershoef - 4

Tough job stepping in for Anssi Jaakkola, but he had to do so much better with the opening goal. The free-kick was well struck, but very much in the Dutchman's reach and to fail to get a hand on it was a poor effort. Made a good save to deny Josh Morris shortly after the break.

Max Ehmer (c) - 4

His experience was desperately needed with Jaakkola unavailable, but his defence turned in a poor first half performance where they failed to deal with the conditions. More comfortable after the break, but the damage was done.

Jack Baldwin - 4

Had a torrid first half in admittedly awful conditions, but Rovers needed more resilience from a player of his experience. Improved in the second half.

Tom Edwards of Fleetwood Town is challenged by Brandon Hanlan of Bristol Rovers. (Rogan/JMP)

Cian Harries - 4

Will learn a lot from a chastening afternoon in awful conditions against a savvy Fleetwood side.

Josh Hare - 4

Barely featured in the first half as Rovers struggled to buiuld any passages of play. Taken off at half time.

Ali Koiki - 5

Got stuck in but offered little as an attacking outlet.

Josh Grant - 5

Scored a good goal, but had a difficult afternoon otherwise.

Wes Burns of Fleetwood Town is challenged by Zain Westbrooke of Bristol Rovers. (Rogan/JMP)

Zain Westbrooke - 4

Gasheads have been calling for him to stamp his authority on a game, but he lacked influence today, particularly in a first half when Rovers could get nothing going.

Luke McCormick - 4

Energetic but ineffective and was replaced at half time.

Erhun Oztumer - 5

Buzzed around and offered imagination, but Rovers struggled to get him the ball in the areas where he thrives.

Brandon Hanlan - 5

Totally isolated in a first half where Rovers strung almost nothing together. A very frustrating afternoon.

Subs

Sam Nicholson (for Hare on 46 minutes) - 7

Created Rovers' goal and should have started this game.

James Daly (for McCormick on 46 minutes) - 5

Scrapped about but had few chances.

David Tutonda (for Koiki on 76 minutes) - 6

Steady on the left flank.

Not used: Liam Armstrong, David Tutonda, Alfie Kilgour, Ed Upson, Jayden Mitchell-Lawson, , James Daly.
