Bristol Rovers in talks over new contracts for defensive duo and talented teenage striker

Bristol Rovers are negotiating extensions for three players who are out of contract this summer, it has been revealed.

The Gas announced that Daniel Leadbitter and Stuart Sinclair among 10 players released by Bristol Rovers as Graham Coughlan swings the axe with their deals expiring as boss Graham Coughlan prepares for the transfer window and upcoming season.

However, they are working to hold on to three names whose contracts would have been up this summer.

Negotiations are ongoing with James Clarke, Joe Partington and Deon Moore.

He joined the Gas from Woking in 2015 and has gone on to play 125 games for the club.

Fellow 29-year-old Partington has shown himself to be similarly versatile - an attribute that Coughlan likes. The Welshman has provided cover for his fellow defenders in his 19 games this term.

London-born striker Deon Moore joined the development squad last summer. The 19-year-old impressed during an eight-minute cameo against Doncaster in March.

Moore rose through the ranks at non-league Carshalton Athletic before joining Peterborough United as a scholar in 2015, making four appearances in the EFL before departing for Merstham Town in March this year.
