Former promotion-winning Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope is set to join the Nottingham Forest coaching staff.
Chris Hughton was named Forest boss on Tuesday following the sacking of Sabri Lamouchi, and Trollope is lined up to join him in the dugout at the City Ground.
Trollope, who guided the Gas to victory in the League Two play-off final in 2007 and spent more than five years in charge of the club, has assisted Hughton in his stints at Birmingham City, Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Paul Taylor, Forest reporter for The Athletic, reports 48-year-old Trollope will be one of three proposed appointments as Hughton shakes up the backroom staff. Colin Calderwood is another name mentioned as a possible addition.
Forest have endured a grim start to the season, with four defeats in their first four league games costing Lamouchi his job.
Trollope, who finished his playing career with the Gas, has been out of the game for more than a year after he was relieved of his position at the Amex Stadium in 2019 when Hughton was sacked and replaced by Graham Potter.
When interviewed about his promotion success with the Gas by Bristol Live earlier this year, Trollope indicated he was eager to get back involved at a club in a management or coaching capacity.
And he has been reunited with Hughton, who was interviewed for the Bristol City manager's job in the summer, as they look to drag Forest out of the Championship relegation zone.
