Bristol Rovers are interested in bringing in a winger on loan from one of the Old Firm giants north of the border.
Manager Graham Coughlan made no secret of his desire to add to his squad following the goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
One player Rovers could be targeting is 17-year-old Rangers winger Josh McPake, according to reports.
Football Insider claims the winger is interesting the Gas, as well as their League One rivals Doncaster Rovers and Scottish Premiership sides St Johnstone and Ross County.
A Rangers source has said all of those clubs have enquired about the Gers youngster's availability with a view to a six-month loan deal.
The Scottish giants managed to tie down the highly-rated winger to a three-year deal earlier this summer after he was named academy player of the season last term, however he is well down the pecking order at Ibrox and is unlikely to feature next season.
Although young, McPake would provide another much-needed wide option for Bristol Rovers.
He is capable or operating on the left, right or centrally and has good feet despite his height. He attempts an average of 10 dribbles per 90 minutes so has the potential to get the Rovers faithful on their feet.
The Gas have struggled for width of late which has seen their strikers drift out wide to pick up the ball rather than pose a threat centrally.
Should he make the move to the Mem, the hope will be he can get into those areas, beat his man and provide the service for the liked of Jonson Clarke-Harris and Victor Adeboyejo.
