Bristol Rovers fans praised for good turnout in big Dublin win

Joe Dunne says he was impressed with the amount of Bristol Rovers fans who made the trip over to Dublin for their pre-season friendly with St Mochta's.

The Gas ran out 7-0 winners against their third tier opponents in a game that was played out in good spirits on and off the pitch.

Praising St Mochta's for their hospitality, Rovers assistant Dunne also said it was good to see so many Rovers fans in attendace, with plenty having made the trip across the Irish sea for a fixture that was only announced less than two weeks ago.

He said: "Coming back to Dublin, with the hospitality shown, and the place itself with the kind of set-up that they've got and the facilities that they've got - when I left Ireland 30 years ago, these types of facilities weren't around.

"For the community in St Mochta's, it's wonderful, and it's a good opportunity for us to make new friends.

"It was good to see Bristol Rovers fans here as well, who have again shown their allegience and come over on short notice.

"I'm pretty sure tonight, at the local bar, a good night will be had by everybody."
