Bristol Rovers fans give verdict on 'best transfer window for years' as Gas make 14 signings

Bristol Rovers fans have praised the club for its “best transfer window in years” after the Gas completed their 14 th signing just before Friday’s deadline.

A long summer of recruitment work from Ben Garner and Tommy Widdrington has resulted in a dramatically overhauled squad, with highly-rated teenager Ryan Jones the final player to join on deadline day.

Excitement has built across the extended four-month window, with Rovers acting shrewdly in the market to give Garner a team in his vision.

After a stuttering start to the season on the pitch, back-to-back league wins have been evidence of this new-look squad’s potential, and the addition of a touch of star quality in Erhun Oztumer on Thursday saw optimism grow amongst the fanbase.

With the deadline passed, here is a reminder of Rovers’ business in this window.

In: Josh Grant (Free, Chelsea), Jack Baldwin (Free, Sunderland), Max Ehmer (Free, Gillingham), Sam Nicholson (Free, Colorado Rapids), Jonah Ayunga (Undisclosed, Havant & Waterlooville), Zain Westbrooke (Undisclosed, Coventry City), Pablo Martinez (Free, West Bromwich Albion), Jayden Mitchell-Lawson (Loan, Derby County), David Tutonda (Free, Barnet), Brandon Hanlan (Compensation TBD, Gillingham), Luke McCormick (Loan, Chelsea), Ben Liddle (Free, Middlesbrough), Erhun Oztumer (Loan, Charlton Athletic), Ryan Jones (Undisclosed, Weston-super-Mare).
