Bristol Rovers, Doncaster Rovers, Peterborough, and Bradford City linked with Plymouth Argyle ace - reports

Bristol Rovers have been linked with a move for Plymouth Argyle defender Ryan Edwards this summer according to reports.

HITC Sport reports the Gas, Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town, Peterborough and Bradford City have all made enqires about signing 6ft 5in centre back Edwards this summer.

Edwards, 25, is out of contract at Plymouth but is understood to have been offered a new deal at Argyle but following the club's relegation into League Two on the final day of the season is looking at his options away from Home Park.

Rovers boss Graham Coughlan, who of course has strong links to Plymouth having played for the club and has recently been linked with the vacant manager's job, looks set to add to his defence with club captain Tom Lockyer departing the Pirates as a free agent his summer.

Right back Daniel Leadbitter is also leaving Rovers this summer while James Clarke has yet to agree a new contract but is in discussions.

This season former Blackburn Rovers youngster Edwards made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Pilgrims scoring five goals.

According to reports a number of Scottish Premiership sides are also ready to try and land the defender this summer who has previously played for Morecombe, Chesterfield, Rochdale and Blackburn.
