Bristol Rovers confirm signing of former Lincoln City and Peterborough winger Harry Anderson

Bristol Rovers have signed Harry Anderson on a two-year deal, the club announced on Tuesday.

The former Lincoln City winger becomes Rovers' 11th signing of Joey Barton's summer revolution, moving to the Mem as a free agent.

The 24-year-old has amassed a wealth of EFL experience, making more than 150 appearances across the third and fourth tier and playing an integral role in the Imps' promotion from League Two in 2018/19.

Barton will undoubtedly call on that experience in the year ahead with the Gas targeting an immediate return to League One.

"We are delighted to have Harry on board," Barton told the club's website.

"He's a talented player, who's spent the last season playing regularly in the league above and we’ve done really well to fend off other interest to secure his services.

"Harry has already won promotion out of League Two with Lincoln and his experience of that and what is required will be vital to us in the coming months."

Anderson started his career with Peterborough United after coming through the youth ranks at Crawley Town.

He made 18 appearances for Posh but made a permanent move to Lincoln in 2017 after impressing on a loan spell the season before when the Imps won promotion from the National League.

He was a pivotal player in Danny Cowley's side making 50 appearances in both 2017/18 and 2018/19 as Lincoln scooped the EFL Trophy and League Two titles.

Anderson continued to be a key player under Michael Appleton, with the playing leaving Sincil Bank with 177 appearances and 27 goals from his four years at the club.

And with two promotions and a cup-winner's medal secured by the age of just 24, he has the makings of an excellent addition to Barton's side.
