Bristol Rovers confirm exit of former Southampton and Portsmouth coach

Bristol Rovers have confirmed that goalkeeping coach David Coles has left the club.

The former Southampton, Portsmouth and West Ham United coach has left his role with immediate effect due to personal family reasons.

Coles, who has also previously had a spell at Bristol City, has been at the club since September 2020.

He replaced Adrian Tucker as the club's goalkeeping coach during Ben Garner's time in charge of Bristol Rovers, and has been working in the same role since Paul Tisdale's appointment.

But it has now been confirmed that Coles, who has previously worked with David James, Dean Kiely and Rob Green among others during his career, he has now left his role with the Gas.

In a statement, Rovers said: "The club can today confirm that goalkeeping coach, David Coles, has left his role with immediate effect.

"Coles, who joined Rovers in September 2020, has departed Rovers due to personal family reasons.

"We wish David the best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts during his spell working for the club.
