Bristol Rovers confirm departure of 10 players from development and youth teams

Bristol Rovers have announced the release of 10 youth team players.

Josh Bailey, Lewis Clutton, Ben Morgan and Theo Widdrington – who announced his departure on Twitter at the weekend – have all been let go from the Gas’ development squad.

Academy scholars Harry Thomas-Barker, Luc Noble, Mason Raymond, George Fowler, Levi Paul and Isiah Crawford have also been released.

Bristol Live understand the club is negotiating new deals with other academy players who are out of contract.

Widdrington is the most high profile of the departures, having joined from Portsmouth two years ago and making a senior appearance in the EFL Trophy, while the others featured prominently in under-18 and under-23 action.

"We would like to thank all the players for their efforts during their time at the club and wish them the very best of luck in their future careers," a Rovers spokesman said on Tuesday.

The announcement follows the club's first senior deals of the summer, with Rollin Menayese and Michael Kelly receiving new deals in the past week.
