Bristol Rovers' squad has been bolstered ahead of the busy festive period with Luke Russe returning to the club.
The midfielder was on loan at Gloucester City in the National League North, and put in a string of impressive performances, becoming a fan favourite for the Tigers after also helping them to avoid relegation last season.
He was ever present in the Gloucester side this season, yet the arrival of new manager James Rowe has seen Russe, and other players', loan moves come to an end.
It means the 20-year-old will return to Rovers for the time being, although he will not be involved in the FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle on Sunday due to having already played in the competition for Gloucester.
Whilst Russe is not expected to be thrust into first-team action, his return could be a timely boost for the Gas.
Rovers face a busy December, with seven games across the space of 28 days, including an EFL Trophy tie against Leyton Orient next week.
The Gas' small squad has meant manager Graham Coughlan has been unable to rotate his side much for fixtures in the EFL Trophy, and he played almost a full-strength side in their last match in the competition against Swindon.
Russe's adds extra depth to a squad that has already played 24 matches so far this season, and he carries first team experience, having played three league matches for Rovers and five EFL Trophy games.
