Bristol road closed after water main burst

A Bristol road has been closed after a burst water main.

B4054 High Street in Shirehampton has been shut after a water main burst late on Saturday (July 24) near the George Inn.

A Bristol Water crew repaired the main overnight but the road will remain shut due to damage caused by the incident.

A statement from Bristol Water reads: "We have a burst main outside the George pub in Shirehampton.

"Our teams repaired the damaged main overnight but due to the damage that the burst caused, we've needed to close the road.

"We're going to keep the road closed while we reassess the damage but please be assured that we are working to get it open as soon as we can."
