Bristol resident 'shocked' after finding cat without head or tail in front garden

A cat was found dead without its head or tail in a front garden in Bristol last week.

The black, grey and white tabby was discovered on Queensdale Crescent in Knowle on the morning of Wednesday, September 15.

A 16-year-old who lives on the street and said there was no blood at the scene and the missing body parts were nowhere to be found.

She said: "We're really shocked. We think it was done by someone but we have no idea who, we don’t know whose cat it is.

"We've never had anything like this around here. I mean, we've got foxes but the foxes have never killed anything."

She also said that the head injury appeared to be a "clean cut". It is not known who the cat belongs to.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police confirmed that the incident had been reported to them.

However, the police also said they were not aware of any evidence that the cat was killed on purpose, and its injuries could have been caused by another animal.

There have not been any other similar recent reports.
