Bristol reports no new coronavirus cases for fourth day running

Two new cases of coronavirus have been reported in North Somerset, new figures have shown.

The number of cases recorded in the region has risen to 489, but this only includes people who have been tested and whose results have come back as positive.

Meanwhile the number of cases in Bristol remains at 722 for the fourth day running.

Elsewhere Bath and North East Somerset (237) and South Gloucestershire, which has 406 confirmed cases, have not seen a rise in cases since Tuesday, June 9.

There has also been no new hospital coronavirus deaths since Saturday (June 20), when the total number of deaths at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust reached 144.

The UHBW trust runs the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital - following a merger on April 1 - as well as several other hospitals in Bristol.

North Bristol NHS Trust - which covers Southmead Hospital and Cossham Hospital - has had 118 coronavirus-related deaths, an increase of one since Wednesday, June 3.

As of today (Tuesday, June 23), there are now 306,862 confirmed coronavirus cases across the UK - which is a daily increase of 653.
