Bristol region records one more coronavirus death and 267 cases

There has been one more coronavirus death and 267 cases in the Bristol region over the past 24 hours.

According to the latest Public Health England figures there have now been 121,209 coronavirus cases in and around Bristol since the start of the pandemic.

The figures show there has been one more person in Bristol to die within 20 days of a positive coronavirus test, bringing the city's death toll to 514.

The latest case numbers show 114 people tested positive for coronavirus in the City of Bristol over the past day - down slightly from the day before.

In South Gloucestershire there were 59 new cases, while Bath and North East Somerset recorded another 50.

In North Somerset there were 44 more coronavirus cases.

Across the United Kingdom there were another 37,622 positive coronavirus cases as of 9am today, bringing the total number of infections to 7,168,806

There have been 147 people to die within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test bringing the UK death toll to 133,988 since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile there have been 48,370,340 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine given out while 43,805,608 people have now been double-jabbed.

The total number of cases confirmed in each region around Bristol, with the daily rise in brackets, are as follows:

  • City of Bristol - 57,162 (+114)

  • North Somerset - 18,462 (+44)

  • South Gloucestershire - 28,841 (+59)

  • Bath and North East Somerset - 16,744 (+50)

The total number of deaths recorded in each region, with any increase in brackets, is as follows:

  • City of Bristol - 514 (+1)

  • North Somerset - 325 (-)

  • South Gloucestershire - 366 (-)

  • Bath and North East Somerset - 234 (-)
