A 20-year-old has died in Magaluf after falling from a hotel balcony - prompting heartfelt tributes on social media.

Freddie Pring - who also went by Freddie Macvicar - worked in Bristol for Heat Recruitment, according to his Linkedin and Facebook pages.

Keen rugby player Mr Pring, from Somerset, died after falling from a balcony at a four-star beachfront hotel.

In a Facebook post, Minehead Barbarians RFC wrote: "It is with deepest sadness that we have to inform you that one of our own, Freddie Pring, has been involved in an accident abroad and has passed away."

The club issued its love and condolences to everyone who knew Mr Pring, who was the subject of tributes in the post's comments section.

One called Mr Pring "a great man with a bubbly personality and a massive heart", while another praised his abilities on the rugby pitch, describing him as an "awesome player".

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said: “We are assisting the family of a British man who has died in Magaluf, and we are in contact with the local authorities.”
