Bristol pub shuts for deep clean after customer tests positive

A Bristol pub has had to shut today (Wednesday) after a customer tested positive for coronavirus.

The George Inn, Shirehampton, has shut for a deep clean today after a customer got in touch to confirm they had tested positive.

Bob Collins, the licensee, said: "We're following the government guidelines and have shut for a deep clean.

"We will be shut for 24 hours."

The customer had been in the pub on Sunday afternoon and informed the pub last night that they had received a positive result.

The pub will reopen tomorrow (Thursday, October 29).
