Bristol pub introduces new low calorie menu and non-alcoholic booze

It's no secret Christmas is a time of over-indulgence, with many of us stuffing our faces and drinking more than we probably should.

January is therefore seen as a month to cut back and detox, as highlighted by ever-growing trends like Dry January and Veganuary.

But that doesn't mean we have to be a hermit for the first month of the year and only leave the house to go to work.

Heading out to the pub or a restaurant to socialise and enjoy a few drinks is still possible, even for those who are cutting down on booze or striving to eat well.

There are plenty of places in Bristol which cater for the health-conscious throughout January by tweaking their menus, allowing us to enjoy guilt-free evenings - and Brewhouse microbrewery is one of them.

The menus at the Cotham Hill microbrewery and bar include a range of dishes that come under 500 calories, as well as an extensive range of non-alcoholic and low ABV drinks.

Some of the new no and low drinks include Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager (0.5 per cent), Seedlip Garden 108 non-alcoholic spirit and Scavi & Ray's alcohol free sparkling wine.

One of the more notable beers available on the low-ABV drinks menu is the Big Drop Brew IPA on draught - making Brewdog the only national stockist of the 0.5 per cent IPA.

In addition, Brewhouse is also offering 30 per cent off all party bookings throughout January for those who might not have had the time to squeeze in a get-together in December.

Gail Bunn, marketing manager at Brewhouse & Kitchen, said: "Here at Brewhouse & Kitchen, we feel that the festive celebrations should continue well into the year.

"We are looking forward to seeing people from the local community come into our pubs and try out our new range of food and drink that is available across all of our sites.

"We are offering 30 per cent off party bookings in January, which is great for those who missed out on a Christmas party this year and are keen to celebrate well into 2020.

"At Brewhouse & Kitchen we are aware that many people will have made New Year’s resolutions to live more healthily, and our range of ‘no, low, and halo food’ and drink will allow our health conscious customers to dine-out guilt-free."

Brewhouse & Kitchen is located at 31-35 Cotham Hill, Bristol BS6 6JY. Its phone number is 0117 973 3793.
