Bristol nail bar incident: Why air ambulance and 999 crews were deployed

A man has been hospitalised after police and ambulance crews were called to the scene of an incident in Bristol on Tuesday morning (November 16).

The emergency services attended a nail bar on Sandy Park Road, Brislington.

Members of the emergency response were seen wearing hazmat suits inside Top Nails salon.

South Western Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the scene with a report of a man with breathing problems at 10.54am.

A spokesperson for the service said: “Multiple resources were allocated, including the air ambulance. One man was conveyed to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”

Pictures from the scene showed multiple emergency service personnel inside Top Nails, with police officers outside with two ambulances.

A firearms team was also spotted on the scene.
