Bristol motorist 'drove off' after crash which left driver in hospital

A motorist reportedly drove off after a crash in Bristol which left another driver in hospital. According to police, witnesses saw a van being driven away after it collided with a car on the Winterstoke Underpass in the Ashton area today (July 7).

The underpass connects the A370, a key route which takes drivers from the North Somerset area into the centre of Bristol, with the A369. It was closed for several hours after the crash was reported to police at 1.30pm.

The car driver was taken to hospital by a family member, and the road reopened at 4.15pm. Police are investigating the crash and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
