Bristol McDonald’s worker tests positive for coronavirus

One member of staff has tested positive for coronavirus at McDonald's in Cribbs Causeway.

A number of employees at the eatery, based in the Retail Park, are now self-isolating following a person contracting the virus.

Bosses say they have rolled out a series of measures to keep employees and customers safe, including temperature checks at the start of each shift.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “One employee at our Cribbs Causeway restaurant has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

"As soon as we were informed, we held an investigation to determine close contacts and then contacted all restaurant employees, a number of whom are also being advised to self-isolate in line with government guidelines.

“We have a number of safety measures in place to help keep our people safe, including Perspex screens, temperature checks at the start of each shift, maintaining a two metre distance from others as much as possible, face coverings, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser.”

There have now been more than 4,000 coronavirus cases in Bristol since the start of the pandemic.
