Bristol man dies after crash on A46 Bath Road

A Bristol man, aged in his 20s, has died after a crash on the A46 Bath Road during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Police said a silver Hyundai Coupe left the road, near Nailsworth, at around 3.15am.

Paramedics and police attended the collision, but tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson confirmed the man's next of kin has been informed.

Officers closed the busy route to allow for collision investigators to scour the scene, but it has since been reopened.

Detectives are now urging anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident 45 of 10 June."

A spokesman from South Western Ambulance Service said they "responded to a call at around 3.10am about a road traffic collision involving one person at Bartonend Lane, Horsley near Stroud.

"We sent an ambulance crew and a senior paramedic to attend the incident.”
