Bristol man convicted of threatening behaviour and causing damage

A Horfield man convicted of threatening behaviour and causing damage has been handed a suspended jail term.

Nicholas Ward, 25, of Filton Avenue, was found guilty of several offences at Bristol Magistrates' Court and was sentenced on October 8.

He was convicted of using threatening words or behaviour to a woman in Haydon Gardens, Bristol, on June 21 last year.

He was also convicted of causing £6,000 damage to a car at Haydon Gardens on April 26 last year.

In a third allegation he was convicted of causing £150 damage to a CCTV camera at Haydon Gardens on February 13 last year.

And he was also convicted of failing to surrender at Bristol Magistrates' Court on December 31 last year.

Magistrates committed him to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 12 months.

He was handed a three months curfew, with a tag, in which he must remain at home between specified times.

Ward was also ordered to pay a £412 penalty.

This comprised of a £122 victim surcharge, £200 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £90 compensation.
