Two South Asian girls adopted by a Bristol couple were sexually abused by the mum's lover, a court heard.
It is alleged the abuser committed a sex act while one of his young victims watched a Little Mermaid video, Bristol Crown Court was told.
The complainant told police the man carried out the act as well as making her sit on his lap and touching her improperly.
It is claimed the man, now aged 66 and living in Mangotsfield, targeted the girl as well as the second youngster.
The man denies seven charges of indecency with a child and five charges of indecent assault on the girls when they were aged four to eight.
Kerry Barker, prosecuting, told a jury the children were adopted by Bristol-based parents who later split up.
The man, a former boyfriend of the girls' adoptive mother, then rekindled a sexual relationship with her, Mr Barker said.
One youngster described how the man would lift up her clothing to reveal her private parts, and tap her naked bottom.
She also told police the man would put on pornographic videos and ask her to re-enact what as shown, which she did.
A second complainant described the man's indecent act as she watched a Little Mermaid film, and described how he made her sit on his lap before sexually abusing her.
Neither complainant went to the police until their adoptive father died some 20 years after the allegations.
When questioned by police the man recalled looking after the girls and bathing them.
But he denied watching pornography in the girls' presence or sexually abusing them.
The trial before a jury of nine men and three women and is due to take a week.
The case continues.
