Bristol Live launches Cost of Living group for tips and advice

Rising energy bills, the prospect of enforced blackouts and people trying to work out if it is cheaper to prepare meals in an air fryer instead of the oven, we haven't lived through a cost of living crisis such as this for generations. In Bristol people are particularly feeling the pinch as rising rents and interest rates are causing extra stress in on of the country's most expensive housing markets.

At Bristol Live we have been trying to gather as much information on DWP payments, changes to mortgage rates and ways you can save money in the shops, and we hope it's been helpful. Now we have decided to include our readers in the conversation, so we can all share advice to help one another through what is sure to be a difficult winter, and beyond.

The group is on Facebook, and will include all of our stories on the Cost of Living crisis as well as posts from readers about ways they have managed to save money, bargains they have seen in the shops, as well as acting as a place to ask for advice. You can find the group at Bristol Live Cost of Living Tips and Advice.

It is not just mortgages, rent and energy bills which are going up. The cost of food is rising while the childcare crisis is still ongoing as entire generations continue to be held back by unaffordable childcare costs. While we cannot solve these problems overnight we can help one another especially with the cost of Christmas looming.

So whether you know a life hack to keep your home warm for only pennies, have a cheap-as-chips recipe which can be thrown in the slow cooker in the morning or just want to ask for some advice, then join us over on Facebook and be part of the conversation.
